In fact, this is not entirely true, because your furry pet can get dirty so much that she will not be able to put herself in order. When bathing an animal, make sure that no water gets into its ear.

Step 1
Keep in mind that water that gets into the ear canal of a cat or cat is not as harmless as someone might think. The inner ear of a cat is designed in such a way that, once it gets there, the liquid may not come out on its own. If the water stays in the middle ear of the animal for some time, it can provoke inflammation of the hearing organs - the so-called otitis media. This is very unpleasant and painful for the cat, and in the absence of timely treatment, it can lead to partial or complete deafness.
Step 2
Take action immediately if water gets into your cat's ear. If the amount of liquid is very small and it did not have time to penetrate deeply, it may be sufficient to simply wipe the animal's ears dry and remove moisture with a cotton swab. If your cat is one of those rare representatives of its species who are not afraid of noise, then you can gently dry her ears with a hair dryer. Carefully make sure that after this unpleasant incident the cat is not overcooled in any way - for example, did not sit near an open window, because in this case, the risk of otitis media in the animal increases significantly.
Step 3
Do not ignore the strange behavior of the animal after bathing or after it has gotten wet in the rain. If a cat rubs its ears with its paws, shakes its head, behaves restlessly, runs around the apartment and meows plaintively, then the owner should suspect that water has got into her ears. You can try to take measures to help the animal at home - for this, put drops for the treatment of otitis media in each ear, which you can buy at the pharmacy. You can also use hydrogen peroxide. If the water still does not come out of your pet's ears, do not let things go by themselves and take it to the veterinary clinic.
