An exhibition of purebred dogs or cats is a habitual phenomenon. Among the four-legged, the best representatives of their breed are chosen, who are then awarded medals and valuable prizes. However, not so long ago, exhibitions of a different format appeared. On them mongrel animals try to find their home.
Stray dog and cat exhibitions are organized by volunteer enthusiasts and volunteer animal rights organizations. As a rule, they are held in the open air; in the cold season, exhibition halls are rented for them. The event is attended by kids and adult pets who previously lived in shelters or on overexposure with volunteers. All animals are preliminarily examined by a veterinarian and receive the necessary vaccinations, most of them are sterilized.
At the exhibition of homeless animals, four-legged exhibits are in cages, carry houses and in the hands of volunteer curators. If desired, the guys will tell you about the history, habits and character of the pet you like, they will let you pet the animal and take a picture with it.
Usually, there is no admission fee to such exhibitions, but the volunteer organization will be grateful if you make a donation, which will subsequently be spent on the treatment and nutrition of the animals. Also compassionate viewers can leave things for animals - dry food, collars, leashes, cat trays and filler, medicines. Usually, a list of items that the volunteer movement most urgently needs is published on the organization's website.
The main task pursued by the organizers of the exhibition is to find a home for the street children in their care. If you are going to the exhibition with the aim of choosing your pet, do not forget to take your passport. An agreement will be drawn up between you and the volunteer organization, which will include your contact details and the address where the animal will live. Periodically, volunteers can call you and inquire about the condition of the dog or cat.
Stray animal exhibitions bring results. As a rule, by the end of the event, people take even adult pets home.
