The European Shepherd is a fairly large dog. And despite her friendly, calm nature, she requires serious, systematic training.
It is necessary
- - collar;
- - leash;
- - delicacy.
Instructions
Step 1
Start training your dog as a puppy. Some skills can be instilled in a puppy from 1, 5-2 months.
Step 2
Remember a few rules before you start training your dog. You cannot demand from the puppy to perform commands that are unbearable for him in terms of physical development and tire him with multiple repetitions of the same technique. Move on to more complex commands only when you have worked out simple skills. Under no circumstances should you hit the puppy with your hand or leash. Reward your pet for doing a good command. Ensure that the puppy complies with your team.
Step 3
Accustom your puppy to a nickname. You need to start doing this from the age of one month. The easiest way to train your dog to use the nickname is during play. Each time you call, give your puppy a treat and pet it. Always pronounce the dog's name in a calling intonation, do not distort it or replace it with affectionate nicknames.
Step 4
Collar train your puppy. It is necessary to put on a collar on a dog from 2 months of age. Opt for a soft, lightweight collar. Let the puppy sniff it first. Put it on when playing with the dog the first time to avoid scaring your puppy. Remove the collar after a while. Over time, the dog will get used to it.
Step 5
Train your puppy on a leash. Choose a leash that is long and ropey. Let the puppy sniff it, and then discreetly clip it to the collar. Let your puppy run around with a leash and collar. Make sure it doesn't get confused. Unfasten and fasten the leash several times until the puppy is no longer afraid of him. Never hit your puppy with a leash!
Step 6
Teach your puppy to Sit. Start training this command when the dog is 1, 5 - 2 months old. Say the command in a calm voice and at the same time raise your hand with the treat above the puppy's head, bringing it back a little. The puppy will raise its head to look at the treat and sit down. As soon as he does this, praise and pet the dog. After repeated repetitions of this technique, the puppy will learn the skill.
Step 7
Train your puppy to lie down. To the puppy sitting at the left leg, show the treat, squeezed in the right hand, stretch the treat forward and downward, while simultaneously pressing on the withers of the puppy, not letting him get up, and give the command "Down!" As soon as the dog lies down, treat him with a treat and praise. Practice the command.
Step 8
Teach your puppy not to take food waste from the ground. To do this, take the dog on a long and light leash, and each time you try to lift something from the ground, immediately give the command "Fu!" and pull the leash. The puppy must discard the taken object from its mouth. If he does not do this, pull out the object taken from him with your hands, say the command "Give!"
