When contacting a pet store for the first time to acquire a fluffy little rabbit, many do not think about what gender the baby has. And by asking a store employee, you will not get an intelligible and correct answer. Indeed, even those who are familiar with determining the sex of rabbits often make mistakes, since it is possible to determine with 100 percent probability only in adults.

Instructions
Step 1
To determine the gender at least approximately, it is enough to pay attention to the appearance of the baby rabbit. In the very first days of life, male rabbits are smaller than female ones. However, they have a wider head. All other morphological signs at such a tender age are not so strongly pronounced. To do this, it is necessary to wait for the minimum twenty days of age in order to be more likely to judge his gender.
Step 2
After 20 days from birth, to determine the female or male, you need to take the rabbit in your left hand and put it on its back. Then, holding his head with your ring finger and little finger, you need to use your thumbs to pull the skin between the hind legs down in the place where the genitals should be located.
Step 3
Look at the genitals. In males, the genital organ is presented in the form of an opening, which is located far from the anus; in the female, it is much closer to the anus and has the form of an oblong slit (the so-called loop) directed towards the tail.
Step 4
To determine the sex of an older individual, the procedure is repeated. They take the rabbit in their hands, turn it over with its stomach up (it is advisable to do this together, since it will be very difficult to hold an adult rabbit) and press with two fingers on the rabbit's abdomen in the area of the genitals from both sides. In the female rabbit, as before, the labia are visible in the form of a loop, while it is necessary to move the tail down a little, and in the males, the genital organ in the form of a small tube with a hole comes out of the leather bag and is exposed.
