Usually cats take care of their personal hygiene on their own. But with thoroughbred animals, there is more trouble - in order for the pet to look spectacular, you need to constantly take care of it. This is especially true of Persian cats with long thick hair. Proper washing has a good effect on the appearance of the Persians, making their coat soft, fluffy and beautiful.
It is necessary
hair dryer, soft large towel, deep basin or baby bath, comb for thick hair, special shampoo for cats, fortified spray
Instructions
Step 1
The Persian cat should not be bathed too often - as it gets dirty, it is usually done every 3-4 weeks. Adult non-castrated cats are washed a little more often - because of the secretions of the sebaceous glands located at the base of the tail, its fur loses its well-groomed appearance faster. You also have to bathe white cats every 2-3 weeks so that the fur remains snow-white.
Step 2
Place the animal in a deep basin or in a baby bath, and if they are not there, in a regular bath, placing a soft cloth on the bottom so that the paws do not move apart and the cat is not frightened. It is better if they help you - one person holds and soothes the pet, the second lathers and rinses the coat. The water should not be too cool to prevent the cat from catching a cold, or hot - it is better if it is pleasantly warm.
Step 3
Wet the cat's coat well, lather a special shampoo on the palm of your hand and apply it to the coat, lathering it in the direction of growth. Places that are more contaminated than others (paws, tail, chest ?, head) need to be washed more thoroughly. Rinse your muzzle very gently with water, paying attention to the nasolabial folds. Try to keep soap out of your cat's ears, eyes and nose.
Step 4
Rinse off the lather by rinsing the coat thoroughly. The shampoo should be washed out completely every time, no matter how many times you soap your cat. Shower movements should not be harsh, and the pressure of the water should not be too strong. After washing, wrap the cat with a towel, blot the coat with it, and then dry it with a hairdryer (it is better to accustom the animal to the sound of a hairdryer from an early age), holding it not very close so as not to burn the pet. You can comb the coat both before drying with a hairdryer, and during this, the main thing is to do it in the direction of hair growth. When drying, on the contrary, pull the coat against the hair growth.
Step 5
If you did everything correctly, about a day after washing the cat's hair will settle down and acquire shine and silkiness. After that, it can be treated with special care products that can be purchased at the pet store.
