Instructions

Step 1

Do not expect your puppy to calmly accept the departure of the owner. Dogs are essentially gregarious animals, they certainly need to take part in all the events that take place in the family. This is especially true for puppies, which in the first months of life need constant attention. Therefore, be prepared that the dog's reaction to loneliness will be negative. Before leaving, try to remove, cover and hide everything that the dog can spoil, gnaw, tear.

Step 2

In order for a puppy to learn to tolerate loneliness normally, it must be taught to do so gradually. First, let him get used to being alone in the room. Try to leave your puppy during periods when he is full, walked and ready to take a nap. Wait for your pet to calm down on its bed, leave the room and close the door. Even if the baby, finding that he is left alone, starts howling and scratching at the door, do not rush back immediately. Let the puppy be alone for at least a few minutes. After that, you can enter, caress your four-legged friend, treat him to tasty, praise. Repeat these training sessions, gradually lengthening the time. This way the puppy will understand that you will definitely come back, you just have to wait.

Step 3

You can do the opposite: restrict the dog from entering a specific room, for example, the kitchen. When leaving there, do not let the puppy follow you. Stay there for a while, and then return to your pet, welcoming him affectionately.

Step 4

When leaving the apartment, try not to draw the dog's attention to your departure. There is no need to say goodbye to the dog on purpose - it will only alarm it. Instead, distract her with, for example, a toy or a treat. When leaving, always leave a few toys for your puppy to keep him busy. At first, it will also help your pet not to feel too lonely when the TV or radio is on. You can also leave him some previously owned by you, but already unnecessary thing. The puppy will be calmer if he takes her to his bed, smelling the owner.
