The difficulty lies in the fact that far from always a person is able to recognize the disease in time, because many symptoms do not appear immediately, and it is not always possible for animals to report their discomfort so that the owner understands.

Step 1
Remember that only a veterinarian can accurately identify the presence of worms. Since not all types of these parasites actively manifest themselves, it is important to set aside time for preventive examinations. The presence of parasites in the intestine allows us to conclude by analyzing the feces, the fence of which you will have to do at home. However, there are varieties of helminths whose eggs are not present in the feces, so regular deworming is recommended in any case. Sometimes, not eggs are found in the feces, but the parasites themselves - roundworms resembling spaghetti and reaching a length of 5 to 10 cm. You can see them yourself without going to the clinic. They are also found in the vomit of the animal. But even the presence of one type of parasite does not exclude the appearance of others, so an examination will be needed in any case.
Step 2
Monitor adult cats closely. You can suspect the presence of worms in them by the appearance of symptoms such as wiping the priests, irritation of the anus, constant biting of the area at the root of the tail. At the same time, there is a misconception that worms necessarily cause a decrease or, conversely, an increase in appetite. This is not necessary at all, and your pet can continue to eat as usual, even if it is infected with helminths.

Kittens should be watched especially carefully. For them, worms are much more dangerous than for adults, and can lead to serious illness or even death. Infected kittens are often weak and developmentally delayed. Exhaustion, lethargy, signs of apathy and lack of interest in food are all serious signals to see a doctor.
Step 4
Please note that it is not uncommon for young children and animals to be infected with the same parasites. Therefore, if worms are found in one of them, it is necessary to immediately check the rest.
