Poodle puppy is ready to switch from breast milk to artificial feeding at the age of six weeks. However, it is necessary to gradually and carefully teach the puppy to the new diet.
Instructions
Step 1
Until the age of two months, the small poodle should be fed six times a day. The basis of his diet should be milk porridge: semolina, millet, oatmeal and rice. To provide the puppy's body with the necessary vitamins, porridge should be alternated with vegetable-based puree soups. The food should not be too hot or cold, and the serving size should be such that the puppy can eat it whole without leaving any leftovers.
Step 2
Puppies aged from two to four months should have five meals a day, then - up to five months - four meals a day, and by six months the number of meals should be reduced to three times. Starting from the age of two months, you can safely add meat and fish to the puppy's diet, as well as raw liver (beef or chicken) in small quantities. From foods containing proteins, puppies are also recommended to give cow's milk, and from carbohydrate foods - buckwheat porridge.
Step 3
From the same age, the puppy can begin to be given cartilage, as well as sugar bones. However, in no case should the puppy be given bird or fish bones. Also, sausages, ham, and overly spicy foods should be prohibited. In addition, you should not feed your puppies meat broth or meals prepared with it, as this can negatively affect the quality of the coat. And in order not to cause stomach problems, the puppy should not be given a lot of eggs - no more than two eggs per week.
Step 4
To prevent the development of rickets, chalk, calcium glycerophosphate, phosphoric lime, and vitamin D should be added to the puppy's food, which promotes the absorption of calcium. Also, the puppies will benefit from calcined cottage cheese, which can be served in the form of cheesecakes for a change. Cottage cheese should be given to the puppy at least twice a week.
Step 5
In order for the puppy to receive the necessary vitamins, fresh vegetables and fruits should be constantly included in his diet. Vegetables can be served in the form of salads, seasoned with a little vegetable oil or sour cream.
