Siberian cats are very beautiful, and this is noticed by both felinologists and ordinary cat lovers. For the first time, cats of this breed were mentioned in the 16th century, and then they were called Bukhara. The current name of the breed was formed due to the fact that its representatives have Siberian roots.
Appearance
Siberians give the impression of large cats because of their lush, beautiful coat. In fact, their bodies are quite compact. Females of Siberian cats weigh an average of 3, 5-7 kg, males - 6-9 kg. Siberians grow up slowly, reaching maturity by 5 years. Their body is of medium length, muscular, the back is slightly higher than the shoulders, the abdomen is firm. The paws are of medium length, the hind paws are slightly longer than the front ones, large, there is pubescence between the toes.
The head of cats of the Siberian breed is trapezoidal, in the upper part of the skull it is wider, slightly tapering towards the muzzle. The muzzle is short, rounded. The ears are medium or large, rounded, the distance between them should ideally be equal to the width of the ears. The eyes are large, almost round, set straight, the outer corner is slightly raised. The chin is rounded, does not protrude forward.
Wool and color
The length of the coat in representatives of the Siberian breed varies from medium to long, there is a double undercoat. On the shoulder blades and the lower part of the chest, the hair is shorter and thicker. There is a lot of hair on the head, and it is quite tough. All traditional colors (plain and patterned), silvery / smoky, color points, any amount of white are allowed. Lilac, chocolate, fawn, cinnamon and their combinations, as well as Burmese, are unacceptable.
Character
The Siberian breed is distinguished by its balanced character. In a family, Siberian cats are comfortable, however, they will not be particularly bored alone. Require a lot of space, outdoor walks.
disadvantages
Long hair needs to be brushed periodically. In addition, the white Siberian woman can be confused with the Turkish Angora.
