Aquarium fish cheer up and create coziness in the house. Mollies belong to viviparous fish, which means that they produce fry at once, and not eggs. There are several different types of mollies and in order to get healthy offspring from them, you must adhere to certain rules. But how to determine in time that the fish will soon bring offspring, to have time to create all the conditions necessary for childbirth, if, unlike other fish, mollies do not have the main sign of pregnancy - the birth spot.
Instructions
Step 1
Pay attention to the female's belly. If it looks round and large to you, it is possible that your fish is pregnant. However, this indicator cannot be accurate, because you could simply overfeed your pet.
Step 2
Remember the number when you find the rounding of the abdomen and observe the female for about two weeks, and do not overfeed her. If you saw that your mollies do not eat very much, but the belly continues to grow, and its sides are rounded, then you can safely be sure that it will soon bring you replenishment.
Step 3
The gestation period for mollies is about a month, sometimes the fry are born a little earlier or later. It is necessary to plant the female separately a week before giving birth, so until that time she needs to be calm. Watch the fish every day and protect it from stress. If the male suddenly begins to annoy her, send him to another place for a while.
Step 4
Monitor the female's behavior. The closer the birth, the more restless the fish becomes. She begins to hide in the grass near the bottom, for a long time it can hide in the upper leaves of plants or behind a snag. By this time, her belly had acquired an incredibly large size and became like a rectangle. In this case, you should immediately plant the fish in a place specially prepared for it and wait for the fry to appear.
