Have you noticed that your dog is trying to scratch the eye area all the time? Examine her eyes and eyelids. If the itching of the eyes is accompanied by redness of the eyelids, discharge from the eyes (transparent, white, green), then this is a reason to contact your veterinarian. He will make the correct diagnosis, prescribe the necessary medications to treat the eyes (usually these are eye drops). The instillation of the medicine into the eyes is as follows.
It is necessary
- - eye drops;
- - pipette;
- - cotton swabs.
Instructions
Step 1
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Prepare the pipette: rinse it with boiled water, check if the tip of the pipette is broken. Pipette the medication prescribed by your veterinarian. Soak a cotton swab in boiled water.
Step 2
Place your knees on the dog's head or ask a family member to hold the dog. The dog should be with its back to you. Treat and rinse the hair around the eyes with a cotton swab dipped in boiled water. Open the eyelids of one eye with your fingers, slightly pulling the lower eyelid. Instill the drug. Close your eyelids with your fingers, massage a little. Place the other eye in the same way.
Step 3
Hold the dog down for a few minutes so that it does not scratch its eyes with its paws. If your dog has been prescribed more than one drug, add them at intervals of ten to fifteen minutes, otherwise the drugs will not work properly. Wash your hands after the procedure. Calm the dog down, give him a treat.
