Dogs are loyal friends, diligent defenders and not overly demanding pets. Despite this, many children try in vain to persuade their parents to let them have a dog. However, there is still a way to convince them.
Instructions
Step 1
Start with theoretical training. Read about the dogs of the breed of your choice. The more you learn about them, the easier it will be for you to answer Mom's objections.
Step 2
Tell your mom what kind of dog you dream of having and why you want it. Share with her what you have learned about this breed, its strengths and weaknesses. Promise that you are ready to take full responsibility for caring for your pet. Find out what your mom thinks about your idea. There is no need to argue right away - for now, you should only reconnoiter the situation.
Step 3
Prove to your mom that you are already an adult and a responsible person. Carry out all her orders without waiting for reminders. Do your homework on time, do not postpone anything until the last moment. Take on something long-term, like watering your houseplants, taking out the trash, etc. All this will be the most important argument in your desire to buy a dog.
Step 4
Be prepared to spend your own money on the dog, and only suggest that the parents add the missing amount. It's great if you can find a part-time job in order to earn money on your own dog. If this does not succeed, agree with the parents to compensate part of the amount by doing some homework - such that you have not done before.
Step 5
Prepare arguments that your mom will like. For example, by working with your dog, you will become more responsible and learn to take care of others. You will surely find new friends, broaden your horizons, spend more time outdoors and on the move.
Step 6
Take a kind of "test drive". Tell your friends and acquaintances that you want to look after their dog, and when one of them is going on vacation, you can be a real owner of the dog for a while. So you will test your strength, and mom can be sure of the seriousness of your intentions.
Step 7
If, after all of the above, the parents are still against the dog, start using "forbidden techniques." Sad eyes and drooping shoulders usually have a magical effect on moms.
