The word "husky" does not clearly define the breed of the dog, it is a generalized name for several breeds. There are 3 main varieties of huskies: shepherd, hunting and riding. Therefore, first of all, it is necessary to determine what kind of dog you want to have. What all huskies have in common is that they are very intelligent and agile animals that need an active lifestyle.

Step 1
Organization of space in the house. If you live in an apartment, play with your dog in the yard or in a spacious park while walking until he gets tired. If you have a private home, provide plenty of room for walking and playing on the lot. Do not keep the dog constantly in the enclosure - due to a lack of mobility, health complications arise: muscles weaken, paw pads become very tender, long claws grow and hair loss begins in some parts of the body.
Step 2
Feeding. Feed an adult dog twice a day. Cook the food so that it resembles a soup or thin porridge. Keep in mind that raw dog food is healthier than boiled food. Puppies under one year old need to be given milk. The daily diet of a young dog should consist of about 45% of meat, 20% of dairy and fermented milk products, 20% of vegetables and 15% of bread, cereals, pasta. An adult dog may be given slightly less meat and dairy products. In the second half of winter and spring, add more vegetables. Do not feed barley or pearl barley to puppies and lactating dogs (bitches).
Step 3
Training. These dogs do not need special training or an experienced instructor. Laika is very independent and self-sufficient in character. For this dog to train and understand what is wanted from it, only an example of an older dog is enough, with which it can (and even should) be allowed to work. When your pet is still a puppy, talk to him like a small child, showing and explaining some of the rules of behavior in the house, apartment, garden. At the same time, there is no need to rigidly impose certain rules of behavior on him, huskies are genetically very intelligent dogs.
Step 4
Diseases. Likes are often susceptible to the following diseases:
- worms - deworm every six months to prevent problems;
- skin diseases (ringworm, scab, itchy scabies) - carefully monitor the condition of the dog and at the first signs of the disease, contact your veterinarian;
- plague of carnivores - unfortunately, huskies do not resist this disease very well, and if you do not notice it at an early stage, the dog will be very difficult to save; to prevent the disease, puppies at the age of 2 months need to get the first vaccination, then, about six months later, again.
