To maintain marine fish and plants, it is necessary to carefully maintain conditions similar to their natural habitat. Therefore, it is so important to constantly monitor the biological regime of the marine aquarium.
It is necessary
- - an aquarium;
- - salt for a marine aquarium;
- - pebble, sea sand, coral chips;
- - fish feeder;
- - hose for pumping water and cleaning the bottom;
- - hydrometer;
- - thermometer;
- - cooler;
- - lighting;
- - filtration system;
- - water circulation system;
- - nitrate reducer;
- - protein skimmer (skimmer);
- - ultraviolet lamps;
- - ozonizer.
Instructions
Step 1
Adjust the volume of your aquarium. One fish should have at least 25 liters of water. Saltwater fish prefer long containers. Some types of fish require deep aquariums.
Step 2
Place soil on the bottom of the container. Place the filter plate first, then cover it with a layer of large pebbles and then a layer of fine sea sand. Sprinkle with coral chips on top.
Step 3
Prepare seawater. For this, special mixtures for marine aquariums are used. Never use table salt for your marine aquarium. Salinity of water should be 30-35%, density - 1.022, pH - 8-8.4, alkalinity level - 2.5-3.5 meq / L, calcium - 400-500 ppm Ca ++. Inhabitants of a marine aquarium are sensitive to even the slightest fluctuations in the parameters of the environment, therefore it is necessary to carefully monitor the water temperature, its density, pH and salinity. Keep in mind that over time, the water will evaporate from the aquarium and its salinity will increase.
Step 4
Establish a quality system of mechanical, chemical and biological filtration and water regeneration to combat pollution, as well as protein deposits, which can cause the accumulation of dangerous toxins in the water. Change at least 1/4 of the aquarium water every week to fresh, aerated water of the same density. Install ultraviolet lamps, water ozonation device to break down proteins.
Step 5
Provide lighting for the marine aquarium for normal growth of fish and plants. Illumination should be about 1 W per 1 cm². Fluorescent lamps are suitable for fish, metal halide lamps for reefs.
Step 6
Don't put fish in the aquarium for about a month. This time is necessary for the maturation of the marine environment. Then add some hardy fish to the tank. Gradually introduce new individuals into the water, but no more than 2 species per week. The final biological balance will be established no earlier than in 4-6 months.
Step 7
Avoid using detergents and soaps to clean the walls of the aquarium. After cleaning, rinse the glass with water and a dechlorinator. Do not place objects that are not water-resistant in salt water into a marine aquarium, otherwise harmful substances can enter the water and fish will become sick or even die.
