The lamp on the aquarium is needed not only so that its inhabitants can be seen. Lighting from a window or from a chandelier is not enough for fish and shells, and especially for plants. In order for the aquarium flora to develop normally, an additional source of illumination is needed, a local directional lamp.
It is necessary
Lining 10cm and 25cm wide, 3m each, glue "liquid nails", furniture plastic corners for four screws, plastic profile 20x20, tape measure, knife, corner ruler, marker
Instructions
Step 1
To make a lamp for an aquarium, prepare all the necessary tools, purchase in advance two three-meter strips of lining 10 and 25 cm wide, and a plastic profile. You will also need a furniture corner for 4 screws, four pieces.
Step 2
First, you need to cut off the excess plastic from the 10cm wide panel, which serves for lateral connection with the next "board". It can be easily removed with an ordinary cassette or stationery knife. On the trim panel, mark the width and length of your tank, and again the width and length.
Step 3
Cut the panel along the markings, but not completely. Bend the lining into a rectangular box along the cuts. When placing the corner piece on the inside, mark its holes on the plastic. Bending the box back, drill 16 holes along the marks with a drill of the same or slightly larger size than the bolts.
Step 4
Coat the folds and furniture corners with liquid nail glue, fold the panel back into a box. Fasten the structure with bolts, try on the aquarium, if the dimensions are correct, leave until the glue is completely dry.
Step 5
While the glue dries, glue, depending on the width of the aquarium, two or three strips of wide lining. Cut the top layer around the edges, leaving the bottom on the fold. When assembling, fold these surpluses onto the box, smearing them with glue, glue the profile on top, as shown in the photo.
Step 6
Now that the luminaire body is assembled and the glue is dry, paint the outside with black acrylic paint. After it dries, cover the inside of the box with reflective self-adhesive tape. When all this work is completed, mount and attach all the electrics inside the body of your luminaire.
To be able to vary the intensity of lighting in your aquarium, calculate the scheme and assemble a chain of five to six lighting elements, this can be useful when treating fish, for example, from semolina. Also, dim lighting may be needed when the fish begin to spawn, or when fry appear in viviparous fish.
