To trim the claws, special tools are used - a nail clipper or a guillotine trimmer. You should not use your nail clippers for this purpose. Plus, they can slip off and injure your pet's paw. And an improperly cut claw can delaminate. You will also need a toner to wipe them down before cutting.

Cats don't like grooming very much. It is best to teach them to her from an early age. Place the animal on your lap with its back to you in a way that is comfortable for you. Hold with your elbow. Rub each claw with a toner. While holding the cat by the paw, lightly press down on the joint with your thumb to reveal the claw.

Look through the lumen to determine where the blood vessel ends. If the cat's claws are dark and it is difficult to see something, then it is better to cut off quite a bit so as not to damage the sensitive area. You need to cut from top to bottom. After trimming the claws with a nail file and treat with hydrogen peroxide. Treat your pet with some kind of treat. If you do hit a vessel and bleeding begins, attach a clean cloth and then sprinkle with talcum powder.
