Feeding and keeping quails is not difficult. There is no need to put the quail cage by the window. They are very sensitive to light. And birds flying by cause stress in quails. They can start pecking at each other or just stop rushing.

If you decide to breed these birds for meat, then you need to know that their growth ends by 2-3 months of life. Quail eggs begin to lay from 2 months. It is these qualities of quails that make it possible to breed them like a business.

Quail feed should be balanced. A prerequisite is the protein content in the feed. Since quails grow very quickly, they need vitamins and minerals. You should be aware that quail females do not hatch eggs at home. Therefore, you will have to buy an incubator. You can get it at your veterinary store. These incubators hold 6 times more quail eggs. For poultry farmers in urban apartments, these incubators seem too large. You can not spend money on their purchase, but do it yourself. The incubation period lasts 17 days. Quails hatch very quickly, on average in 5 hours. You can grow hatched quails in a regular plywood box. But such conditions are only suitable for home breeding. Lay clean paper at the bottom of the box. You need to change it as often as possible. The quails must be kept clean. Also, there should be cells at the bottom of the box so that the legs do not part in different directions.

If the transport of eggs was about 300 km, the hatchability is likely to be 50%. If 3-day-old quails are purchased, then you should take care of the cage with food and a drinker in advance. It is necessary to feed the quails as soon as they are delivered. Power outages can weaken them greatly.
